The priests of the Diocese of Peoria gather for their semi-annual Assembly Days Oct. 22-23 in Peoria. This is the first such assembly since the announcement of the new parish models by Bishop Louis Tylka at Pentecost as part of Growing Disciples pastoral planning process.

RENEW THEIR WITNESS OF FAITH

As one of the prayers of petition during morning Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral before the first day of the assembly, Bishop Tylka offered, “We pray for our priests in the Diocese of Peoria, gathered in faith for Assembly Days, that we may be inspired by the Holy Spirit to renew our witness of faith, leading our Church as we grow disciples.”

Following Mass, the agenda got underway back at Spalding Pastoral Center with presentations and breakout sessions on topics such as transition management, and under the general theme of discipleship.
