The following list was compiled from information provided to The Catholic Post. Should your parish or organization’s future fish fry not appear on this list, email cathpost@cdop.org with “Fish Fry” in the subject line. Sponsoring organizations receive one free notice in the print edition of The Catholic Post, and this online list will be constantly updated.
BLOOMINGTON: St. Mary School, 603 W. Jackson, will host a fish fry on Friday, March 11, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. In addition to the fish (all you can eat), the menu includes a baked potato or potato au gratin, green beans, dessert and a drink. Pasta or grilled cheese will also be available. Tickets for adults are $7 if purchased in advance or $8 at the door. The cost for children, ages 6 to 13, is $5. Children 5 and younger eat for free. For advance tickets, send email to FishFry@StMarysSchool.net or call the church office at (309) 827-8526. All proceeds will support the St. Mary School scholarship fund.
DALZELL: St. Thomas More Church is planning a fish fry for Friday, March 4, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the church hall, 302 Chestnut St. The cost is $10 for adult meals and $5 for a child’s meal. Antipasto will be available for purchase. There will be Stations of the Cross in church at 4:30 p.m.
EAST PEORIA: The Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry on Fridays, Feb. 26 and March 4 and 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at St. Monica’s Hall, 303 Campanile Drive. In addition to the fish (all you can eat), the meal includes a baked potato, lettuce salad and rolls. The cost is $7.50 for adults and $3.50 for children. Hot dog plates are $3. The proceeds will be donated to the Msgr. E.L. Grzybowski Community Charities.
KEWANEE: Visitation Catholic School, 101 S. Lexington Ave., is serving dinners of fried fish, baked potato, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert on Fridays, Feb. 26 and March 4 and 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. Cheese pizza is also available for the children.
METAMORA: The Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Sorrows Council No. 3060, will have a fish fry (all you can eat) on Friday, Feb. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Snyder Village, 1200 E. Partridge St. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 5 to 12. Children younger than 5 eat for free. The proceeds will go to local charities, including St. Mary School, Children’s Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Heart House and the Metamora Food Pantry.
MONMOUTH: The Monmouth Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry every Friday until March 18 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 120 S. Sunny Lane. Meals will be served from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Carry-outs are available. The cost is $11 for adults and $6.50 for children.
PEORIA: Holy Family School, 3720 N. Sterling Ave., will be the site for the third annual Irish Fest and Fish Fry sponsored by the Maggie Bertram Foundation for the Fine Arts on Friday, March 11. Dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. and will include catfish, walleye, baked tilapia and pizza. Live music is planned from 7 to 9 p.m.. There will also be activities for children, Irish dancers, and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit the Maggie Bertram Foundation for the Fine Arts, which honors a 16-year-old artist, dancer and musician who was killed in a car accident on March 4, 2012.
PEORIA: St. Bernard Church, 509 E. Kansas St., will have a fish fry on Fridays, March 4, 18 and 25, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the former school gym. The menu includes fried catfish, shrimp and cod or baked cod, coleslaw and bread and offers a choice of baked potato, french fries or potato salad. The cost is $9 for the full adult meal or $4 for a light adult meal or child’s meal. Carry-outs will be available.
PEORIA: St. Philomena Parish will hold a fish fry on Friday, March 11, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria/gymnasium, 1000 W. Albany. Adult dinners include a choice of catfish, walleye, shrimp or baked cod and two sides for $9. Children’s meals include a choice of cheese pizza, walleye, baked cod, or macaroni and cheese and one side for $5. Drinks and desserts will be sold separately. Additional fish and sides are available with the purchase of a dinner. Mass is celebrated at 5:30 p.m. in the church, with Stations of the Cross following at 6 p.m.
PHILO: The Philo Knights of Columbus, Father John C. Hecht Council 13103, will host fish fry dinners on Fridays, Feb. 26 and March 4, 11 and 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the John Schumacher Gymnasium at St. Thomas School, 311 E. Madison St. Adult meals include a fried cod sandwich, coleslaw, baked beans, green beans, chips, dessert and drink. The cost is $7, with extra fish sandwiches available for $5. A child’s meal of macaroni and cheese, sides, a cookie and drink is $2. All proceeds benefit St. Thomas School.
