Charismatic Renewal retreat April 13-14 at King’s House
HENRY — “Hope and Healing” is the theme for a Catholic Charismatic Renewal retreat planned for Friday, April 13, and Saturday, April 14, at Nazareth House Retreat Center. It will be led by Father Richard McAlear, OMI, of Tewksbury, Mass.
Ordained in 1970, Father McAlear became involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in 1972 and entered into the healing ministry in 1976. His ministry and work have taken him to every part of the United States, as well as Asia, South America, Canada, Australia, New Guinea, Guatemala, Italy, France, Portugal and Scotland.
He has been a member of the Association of Christian Therapists since 1977 and is a past director of Our Lady of Hope Center in Newburgh, N.Y. Father McAlear served as vocation director for his community, the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, for 10 years before being assigned to a full-time ministry of teaching and healing.
Father McAlear has authored five books, including “Healing,” “Forgiveness: Experiencing God’s Mercy,” “Speaking from the Heart,” “Come Stay Awhile” and “Tears.” Books will be available for purchase at the retreat along with CDs and DVDs.

The cost for the retreat is $90, which includes lodging and meals on Saturday. Arrangements can be made to stay over Saturday night at no additional cost.
