METAMORA — Author and blogger Kate Wicker and image consultant Ginny Baldridge are among the keynote speakers for the third annual Behold Conference, which will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Embassy Suites in East Peoria.

The theme for the event, which is a Catholic conference on the dignity and vocation of women, is “From the Heart of God.”

Returning by popular demand is Marie Miller, a songwriter, instrumentalist and recording artist who performed at last year’s conference.

In addition to the talks on the dignity and vocation of women and the roles entrusted to them within the mission of the Catholic Church, there will be opportunities for eucharistic adoration and the sacrament of reconciliation, as well as Mass.

During her talk, “Made in Heaven,” Wicker will explore what it means to be fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image and likeness. Using Scripture, the saints and the wisdom of the church, she will invite women to see themselves as image-bearers of God’s beauty and instruments in his hands.

A Catholic wife, mother, journalist and speaker, Wicker has written for Catholic Exchange, CatholicMom.com, “Atlanta Parent” and “Woman’s Day” and is senior writer and health columnist for “Faith & Family.” She is a frequent guest on such Catholic media outlets as EWTN’s “The Son Rise Morning Show” and “Kresta in the Afternoon.”

Baldridge is a St. Louis-based image consultant and author who regularly appears on KMOV-TV, volunteers for the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good, Feel Better” program, and consults with a wide range of businesses. She will offer tips on fashion, hair, makeup and accessories, while addressing the topics of dignity and modesty and empowering women to respect their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit.

The Behold Conference is hosted by the First Ten group of St. Mary’s Parish in Metamora, with sponsorship from OSF HealthCare. Topics are considered appropriate for women who are high school age and older, and lap babies are welcome.

Registration is $60, but those who register by Dec. 15 will receive a discounted rate of $45. The fee includes conference materials, breakfast and lunch. Seating is limited.
