Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, has invited all widowed and divorced persons in the Diocese of Peoria to join him for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria.

A reception with the bishop will follow at the Spalding Pastoral Center.

The bishop said the event is designed to welcome the widowed and divorced community to the diocesan church and share with them how important they are to its life. The lay liturgical roles in the Mass will be filled by widowed and divorced persons.

Meanwhile, Bishop Jenky’s 11-minute “Message for the Divorced,” produced by the Diocese of Peoria this spring, has been posted online.
