Geneseo parish hosting support group series for those divorced, separated

GENESEO — St. Malachy Parish is offering a support group for people who are separated and divorced that will meet on Monday evenings starting March 6 in the main conference room at the church, 595 E. Ogden Ave.

“If you, or someone you know, is going through a divorce or separation, this group offers healing for those who are hurting,” said Deacon Art Ries, who said people of all faiths are welcome no matter how long since their separation or divorce.

There will be 13, 90-minute sessions covering a variety of topics. If participants cannot attend them all, they can still benefit from the group. Presenters will be caring men and women who have experienced divorce and separation.

The spring schedule of topics is as follows:

  • March 6 — “What’s Happening to Me” and “Facts About Divorce and the Catholic Church.”
  • March 13 — “The Road to Healing/Finding Help”
  • March 20 — “Facing My Anger”
  • March 27 — “Facing My Depression”
  • April 3 — “Facing My Loneliness”
  • April 10 — “Annulments — How and Why”
  • April 17 — “New Relationships”
  • April 24 — “Financial Survival”
  • May 1 — “Kid Care”
  • May 8 — “Single Sexuality”
  • May 15 — “Forgiveness”
  • May 22 — “Reconciliation”
  • May 29 — “Moving On, Growing Closer to God”
