Diocese of Peoria Launches “Five Foundations” Prayer Series on Hallow App

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 17–21, 2025

PEORIA, IL — As part of the ongoing celebration of the Diocese of Peoria’s 150th Anniversary, the diocese is launching a new prayer series on the Hallow app featuring Bishop Louis Tylka. The series, Five Foundations, invites the faithful to pray, reflect, and renew their commitment to the Church’s mission to Proclaim Christ: Yesterday, Today, and Forever.

The Five Foundations—Evangelization, Discipleship, Vocations, the Eucharist, and Archbishop Fulton Sheen—were developed through extensive conversations with priests and lay faithful across Central Illinois. They express the key priorities the Diocese of Peoria believes are essential for building a vibrant future rooted in Christ.

“As we celebrate 150 years of faith, we are called not only to remember our history, but to discern where the Holy Spirit is leading us next,” said Bishop Tylka. “The Five Foundations guide us in this mission so that we may continue to proclaim Christ with renewed zeal—for yesterday, for today, and for generations yet to come.”

The prayer series releases November 17–21, 2025 and remains available afterward for continued reflection during Thanksgiving week. Each day, Bishop Tylka offers a short reflection and prayer on one of the Foundations:

  • Day 1: Evangelization – Bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to every heart and home.
  • Day 2: Discipleship — Walking more closely with Christ and reflecting His love in daily life.
  • Day 3: Vocations — Hearing and responding to God’s unique call to love and service.
  • Day 4: The Eucharist — Encountering Christ in the source and summit of our Christian life.
  • Day 5: Archbishop Fulton Sheen — Drawing inspiration from a beloved son of our diocese whose witness continues to shine throughout the world.

The series is offered in partnership with Hallow, the world’s largest Catholic prayer and meditation app. Hallow has grown from a personal faith project into a global platform with over 25 million downloads, nearly one billion prayers prayed, and users across 150 countries. Its library of more than 15,000 prayer sessions includes contributions from leaders and creators such as Mark Wahlberg, Fr. Mike Schmitz, Sr. Miriam James Heidland, Bishop Robert Barron, Chris Pratt, Jonathan Roumie, Gwen Stefani, Mario Lopez, and even prayers from the newly elected Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.

Hallow is also the first and only faith-based app ever to reach the #1 ranking in the Apple App Store, outpacing TikTok, Amazon, Netflix, Instagram, and Spotify during Lent.

The Five Foundations prayer series is available now on Hallow and can be accessed for free for Diocesan parish members.
