Diocese of Peoria to Host 150th Anniversary Foundation Gala
As part of the ongoing celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Peoria, the diocese will host its very first Foundation Gala on Friday, November 14, at 6:00 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center.
Be sure to get your reservation in before the deadline: October 20.
The Gala promises to be a festive evening of food, music, laughter, and community, bringing together Catholics from across central Illinois to celebrate the gift of 150 years of faith.
Beyond the joy of gathering, the Foundation Gala serves a greater purpose. Proceeds from the event will benefit the 150th anniversary celebrations taking place throughout the next two years, including special Masses, community events, exhibits, and other opportunities to honor the diocese’s history and strengthen its future.
“This is going to be a night filled with joy, laughter, and hope for the future of our diocese,” said Bishop Louis Tylka, who is inviting all the faithful to join the celebration. “Together, we’ll support our five foundations of our diocese—evangelization, discipleship, vocations, the Eucharist, and the legacy of Archbishop Fulton Sheen. I don’t want you to miss it!”
Parish Participation Encouraged
The 150th Gala Committee is encouraging parish groups to consider sponsoring a table for the event. For $1,800, a table of 10 may be reserved—an opportunity for parish Men’s Clubs, Women’s Clubs, or other organizations to come together in support of the diocesan celebration. Smaller groups of parishioners may also join efforts to share a table sponsorship.
The reservation deadline is October 20.
Join the Celebration
Registration and sponsorship information can be found at cdop150.org/gala.
Even those unable to attend in person are invited to join the effort by making a gift to support the diocesan anniversary celebrations.
