MONMOUTH — On Nov. 16, Bishop Louis Tylka celebrated Mass at Immaculate Conception Parish in Monmouth, and afterwards blessed the new gym at Immaculate Conception School.

Father Tim Hepner, pastor of Immaculate Conception, indicates the new gym is about more than bricks and mortar. “Our buildings, what we invest our time and money in, are ultimately for Christ.”

He’s really dynamic, and speaks positively in a way that gets people excited. But it’s all the Gospel.” — Father Timothy Hepner, about Reboot speaker Chris Stefanick

To give testimony to that truth, the new gym will play host to “Reboot,” an event featuring author, speaker and television host Chris Stefanick on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

The Reboot website describes the event as a “fun, inspiring and practical experience for all (ages 12 and up), of applying the beauty and genius of the Gospel to every aspect of your life.”

Father Hepner adds that Reboot organizers were thinking to hold the event in an arena, but he wanted it held in the gym to make the connection clear between faith and facility.

PUTTING A FAITH-FILLED STAMP ON IT

“To have this event . . . and to make it feel this exciting, ‘Wow, there’s a bunch of other people here, they are all drawn to this,’ . . . it’s just to put that stamp (on it) right from the very beginning.”

Commenting on Reboot speaker Chris Stefanick, Father Hepner says, “He’s really dynamic, and speaks positively in a way that gets people excited. But it’s all the Gospel. He doesn’t water down, he doesn’t change it . . . there’s just this energy that people have when they listen to him.”

In a video on the Reboot website, Stefanick says, “When people experience the Gospel breaking into their world, it changes everything, just like it did in 33 A.D.”
