National Eucharistic Pilgrimage Coming through Peoria!

The National Eucharistic Congress is planning to do another Eucharistic Pilgrimage in the summer of 2025. The plan is to launch from Indianapolis and then make their way across the country to conclude in Los Angeles on the feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

The daily schedule will include Mass, followed by times of walking, procession, and the hosting of events centered on the Eucharist for parishes including Adoration, witness talks and service projects.

VENERABLE FULTON SHEEN PROMOTED EUCHARISTIC HOLY HOUR

Knowing the great gift the National Pilgrimages were to the dioceses where they traversed, Bishop Lou Tylka, Bishop of Peoria, extended an invitation for the National Pilgrimage to come through the Diocese of Peoria. He wrote in his letter to the National Eucharistic Congress: “…being the home of the Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen who promoted a great devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist through a daily Holy Hour, I believe Peoria is a great place for this pilgrimage to pass through.”

PILGRIMAGE COINCIDES WITH DIOCESAN 150TH ANNIVERSARY

The National Eucharistic Congress agreed, and the pilgrimage is scheduled to come somewhere through the Diocese of Peoria in May 2025, just as the Diocese is celebrating its 150th Anniversary celebration! More information will be shared as plans are finalized.

Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen, pray for us!
