Dr. Susie Cicciarelli Appointed Associate Superintendent of Schools for Diocese of Peoria
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Susie Cicciarelli has been appointed associate superintendent of schools, effective August 1, 2024.
Her career with the Catholic Diocese of Peoria spans over 21 years. Dr. Cicciarelli began her career as a teacher in 2003 at St. Thomas the Apostle School in Peoria Heights. In 2007, she joined Peoria Notre Dame High School as the school’s executive assistant to the president and director of student support.
In 2013, she served as an assistant principal at St. Philomena School before returning to Peoria Notre Dame High School, where she held various positions, including assistant principal, interim principal, and director of guidance and student support, before accepting the associate superintendent position.
WELL-PREPARED
Dr. Cicciarelli holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and English from the University of Iowa, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Bradley University, and a doctorate in instructional technology from Duquesne University. She earned her administrative certification from Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Cicciarelli and her husband, Greg, are active members and graduates of St. Vincent de Paul parish and school, respectively. Both are graduates of Bergan High School. Their five children attended and graduated from St. Thomas the Apostle School and Peoria Notre Dame High School. They have one grandson and will have two more grandchildren in December.
Dr. Cicciarelli is grateful to the many people who have made a difference in her life through the schools and parishes of the Catholic Diocese of Peoria. She looks forward to making a difference as she supports Bishop Tylka and the Office of Catholic Schools in the evangelizing mission of the Church. Dr. Cicciarelli is excited to collaborate with principals, teachers, students, and parents in her new role.
