Catholic Charismatic Renewal conference is July 22 in Peoria

Mike Nolan

“I Have Loved You with an Everlasting Love” is the theme for the 37th annual Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference on Saturday, July 22. It will be held at the Spalding Pastoral Center, 419 N.E. Madison Ave., in Peoria.

Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with the conference starting at 9:15 a.m.

The speaker will be Mike Nolan, founder of Shadow on the Water. On his website, shadowonthewater.com, he said he started the ministry to help the church rediscover her identity.

“We who populate the pews have forgotten that Jesus did not die for a powerless church,” he said. “Shadow on the Water is a response to Jesus’ call to live fully the identity He gifts us, for which He paid such a high price.”

In addition to Nolan’s presentations, the conference will include Mass, a healing service, and praise and worship, as well as lunch. Those who attend are asked to bring a non-refrigerated snack to share.

General registration is $50 per person or $25 for full-time students. There is no charge for clergy, religious, permanent deacons and seminarians, although the meal plan for lunch is $15 for everyone and must be postmarked by July 10.

To register by mail, send a check along with your name, street address, email address and parish to the Spalding Pastoral Center, Office of Catholic Charismatic Renewal, 419 N.E. Madison Ave., Peoria, IL 61603.

Online registration is available at ccr-cdop.org.
