Noting that legislation to legalize assisted suicide is coming to Illinois, the Catholic Conference of Illinois is planning training sessions to help people formulate “well-thought, organized, and respectful responses” when talking to lawmakers.
Leading the webinars will be Bob Gilligan, executive director of the Catholic Conference of Illinois, and Dawn Fitzpatrick, senior coordinator of Human Dignity/Solidarity for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
The first one was held Jan. 26, but there is still time to sign up for the two remaining sessions on Monday, Jan. 30; and Thursday, Feb. 2. The webinars, presented via Zoom, are scheduled for 7 p.m.
Not only will Gilligan and Fitzpatrick demonstrate how to communicate with legislators, but they will also help participants understand why such a law should be opposed and effective messages in regard to assisted suicide.
Send reservations to info@ilcatholic.org. Be sure to include your name, email address and the session you will be attending.
