Bishop Tylka to offer White Mass in Rock Island Oct. 15; talk to follow
ROCK ISLAND — Bishop Louis Tylka will be principal celebrant of a White Mass for those in the medical profession to be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. Pius X Church, 2502 29th Avenue.
The Mass and a presentation to follow are being planned by the St. Thomas Aquinas Guild of the Quad Cities, a chartered guild of the Catholic Medical Association.
The talk following Mass will be by Dr. Jack Lane on the topic “The Christian Health Care Professional in the Era of Secular Medical Ethics.” The presentation will take place in McCarthy Hall at St. Pius X Parish. Dr. Lane is a past president of the Catholic Medical Association and serves as vice president of FIAMC, the international organization of Catholic medical associations based in Rome.
