Father Britto M. Berchmans

MOLINE — “Holy Eucharist: The Gift and The Call” is the theme for a parish mission that will be given Oct. 17-19 at Sacred Heart Church, 1608 13th St. The speaker will be Father Britto M. Berchmans.

Sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. each day. The sacrament of reconciliation will be available following the mission on Sunday, Oct. 17, and Monday, Oct. 18.

Father Berchmans, who recently retired as pastor of St. Paul of the Cross Parish in Park Ridge, will talk about “Lamb’s Supper — Call to Community” on Oct. 17. He will continue with “Sacrifice on Calvary — Call to the Cross” on Oct. 18, and conclude with “Real Presence — Call to Intimacy with the Lord” on Oct. 19.

The host of “Built on This Rock,” which is carried on Catholic Radio (WNDZ 750 AM) and focuses on Christ-centered marriages, Father Berchmans has also produced a six-part set of CDs, “Enrich Your Marriage.” He holds master’s degrees in physics, journalism, and theology, and speaks extensively on spirituality, relationships, and personal growth.
