Bishop Tylka's prayer calendar for September has Holy Cross Parish in Mendota slated for special remembrance on Sept. 14, the feast of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

Coadjutor Bishop Louis Tylka has been praying for each parish in the Diocese of Peoria by name this year, thanks to a calendar he developed with the assistance of Sister Linda Burkitt of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception (Heading Avenue Franciscans). The prayer calendar also includes days special to the religious communities active in central Illinois.

Everyone is invited to join Bishop Tylka in prayer for the following parishes and religious communities that are being remembered in September:

• Sept. 4: Sacred Heart Parish, Peoria
• Sept. 5: St. Ann Parish, Peoria
• Sept. 7: St. Patrick Parish, Ransom
• Sept. 8: St. Mary Parish, Peru
• Sept. 9: Apostolic Sisters of St. John, Princeville
• Sept. 10: Missionaries of Charity, Peoria
• Sept. 11: Holy Cross Parish, Champaign
• Sept. 14: Holy Cross Parish, Mendota
• Sept. 15: St. Matthew Parish, Farmington
• Sept. 16: St. Mary Parish, Bloomington
• Sept. 19: St. Patrick Parish, Seneca
• Sept. 21: St. Matthew Parish, Champaign
