‘Life of No Regrets’ is theme of talks set Aug. 3-6 at Rapids City, East Moline parishes
“Know God and Live a Life of No Regrets” is the basis for a series of talks with original music that will be given by Robert Rogers at St. John the Baptist in Rapids City and St. Anne in East Moline from Aug. 3 to 6.
Rogers will speak from personal experience — he lost his wife of 12 years and their four children in a flash flood in Kansas in August 2003. Soon after, he resigned from his career as an electrical engineer and answered the call to share God’s grace and the faith that brought him through the ordeal.
In addition to speaking and writing music, Rogers is the author of five books, including “Into the Deep: One Man’s Story of How Tragedy Took His Family But Could Not Take His Faith,” “Seven Steps to No Regrets” and “Rise Above.”
His visit to the Quad Cities will start in Rapids City on Tuesday, Aug. 3, with a presentation at 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 1416 Third Ave. Another talk is planned for after the noon Mass on Wednesday, Aug. 4. Sandwiches will be available for purchase for this luncheon presentation.
Rogers will speak at St. Anne Church, 555 18th Ave., in East Moline at 7 p.m. on Aug. 4 and Thursday, Aug. 5. Confessions will start at 6:15 p.m. both days.
He will also talk to the Men’s Group at St. Anne at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 6.
There is no admission fee for any of the events, but a free will offering will be accepted.
