Deadline nears for tributes to Catholic education heroes of this pandemic period

The Catholic Post will celebrate heroes in education in a section devoted to Catholic Schools Week. We invite readers to tell us about teachers, principals and staff members who have gone above and beyond during this challenging time of pandemic. CNS/Valaurian Waller)

Heroes don’t seek praise, but they deserve gratitude for all that they do on behalf of others. Among those who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic are those who are doing everything they can to provide a good education for thousands of young people across the Diocese of Peoria, as well as formation in the faith.

Who are the faith-filled teachers, principals, school staff members and clergy who are doing that in these unusual days? The Catholic Post would like to include tributes to these heroes in education in a special section devoted to Catholic Schools Week, which will be celebrated nationally from Jan. 31 through Feb. 6.

To make that happen, we need to hear from you by Monday, Jan. 11.

Students are welcome to share their thoughts and pictures showing their class or favorite teacher, too!

Send your stories, photos and drawings to Jennifer Willems at jwillems@cdop.org or to Catholic Schools Week, The Catholic Post, P.O. Box 1722, Peoria, IL 61656. For more information, call Willems at (309) 677-7036.
