ORION — “Journey to Joy” is the theme of a live drive-through Nativity experience to be presented the next two weekends by the youth group of Mary, Our Lady of Peace Parish.

“We thought a drive-through event would be wonderful for our community as they could safely enjoy the Nativity from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles,” said Stephanie Moen, youth group leader.

Parents and students, she said, have worked diligently on costumes, sets, lighting and props. Students have been paired with other family members in many scenes to keep people safe. For example, the Greenwood sisters play the parts of Mary and Elizabeth in the scene from The Visitation pictured above, and cousins will be playing parts for The Annunciation.

“We will also have a variety of live animals at the event provided by local parishioners,” said Moen.

Cost for the event is $10 per vehicle and those attending are encouraged to bring an item for the local food pantry. Hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4; 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5; 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11; and 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12.
