Livestreaming Mass one way to get to know new coadjutor bishop-elect
Coadjutor Bishop-elect Louis Tylka is among the pastors who have been livestreaming Masses during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are broadcast from his parish church, St. Julie Billiart in Tinley Park. In the Diocese of Peoria, a growing number of parishes are also livestreaming Masses on Facebook, YouTube and Zoom. The following list includes information made known to The Catholic Post or found by visiting the parishes on social media. This list will be updated weekly until public Masses can be celebrated again.

- ALEDO, MATHERVILLE, VIOLA: Sunday Masses are being livestreamed from the Facebook page of Father John Thieryoung, pastor, at 8 a.m. and broadcast at 11:15 a.m. on WRMJ 102.3 FM.
- BLOOMINGTON: Sunday at 10 a.m. and noon, Monday through Saturday at 10:30 a.m., and Tuesday through Friday at 5:30 p.m. on HT-HSP Display, the YouTube page for Holy Trinity and Historic St. Patrick, Bloomington, and St. Patrick, Wapella. They are also available at hsp-ht.org, the new website for Historic St. Patrick and Holy Trinity. Communion is distributed in the parking lot of Historic St. Patrick Church after every Mass. The rosary follows.
- BLOOMINGTON: Daily at 7:30 a.m., Saturday (in English) at 4 p.m., and Sunday (in Spanish) at 11 a.m. Links may be found at stmarysbloomington.org, the website of St. Mary Parish.
- BLOOMINGTON, DOWNS: Saturday at 4 p.m., Sunday at 9 a.m., and Monday through Friday at noon at St. Patrick Church of Merna on Facebook and on the parish website, stpatrickmerna.org. A Eucharistic Holy Hour is offered each Friday at 11 a.m.
- BRIMFIELD, WILLIAMSFIELD: Father John Verrier, pastor, livestreams Mass on Saturday at 5 p.m. on Facebook at St. Joseph Catholic Church Brimfield. The liturgies are posted to the parish websites, stjosephbrimfield.org and stjameswilliamsfield.org, for viewing later. St. Joseph’s sister parish is St. James, Williamsfield.
- CANTON, FARMINGTON: Daily and Sunday at 11 a.m. at Fulton County Catholics on Facebook. Various devotions are offered at 3 p.m. on Friday.
- CHAMPAIGN: Mass will be livestreamed from the rectory chapel at Holy Cross at 10 a.m. on Sunday. It can be found at holycrosscatholic on Facebook and will be posted to the parish website, holycrosscatholic.org, for viewing later.
- CHAMPAIGN: Saturday at 5:15 p.m. (from St. Boniface), Sunday at 9:30 a.m. (from St. Matthew), and Monday through Thursday and Saturday from the rectory chapel at 7 a.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Facebook. A Mass for the end of the school year will be celebrated on Friday, May 15, at 8:10 a.m. and a St. Matthew Graduation Mass is planned for 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 17. The rosary/Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed at 11 a.m., followed by eucharistic adoration from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday. - OTTAWA CATHOLIC COMMUNITY: Masses are livestreamed at 9 a.m. at Ottawa Catholic Community on Facebook. The chapel tabernacle at St. Patrick Church has been moved to the foyer so it can be viewed from the east door of the church.
