New dates set for garage sale to benefit work of Central Illinois Right to Life

WEST PEORIA — There has been a change of dates for the Central Illinois Right to Life garage sale.

Originally scheduled for Sept. 20-21, it will now take place on Friday, Oct. 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 19, from 8 a.m. to noon. It will still take place on the campus of Catholic Charities, 2900 W. Heading Ave. (Turn right at the main entrance and follow the signs.)

All proceeds will be used to support the work of Central Illinois Right to Life.

Donations were accepted this week and may be dropped off again from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, and Wednesday, Oct. 16. To request that donations be picked up, call (309) 922-1372 or (309) 360-9687.

Among the items that will be accepted are nice, usable clothing for all sizes, household items, linens, kitchen items, small appliances, lawn and garden items, craft items, books, CDs, tapes and music, as well as antiques. Everything should be clean and in good working condition.

Baked goods, large appliances, televisions, computers or computer parts, waterbeds, bathroom fixtures, magazines and encyclopedias will not be accepted.

Volunteers will are needed to clean the building on Monday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to set up for the sale. Help is also needed during the sale itself.
