Thomas More Society president Brejcha will keynote Respect Life Dinner Oct. 7

Tom Brejcha, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Society, will be the keynote speaker for the 37th annual Respect Life Dinner in Peoria on Sunday, Oct. 7.

His presentation will follow the dinner and program that begins at 6 p.m. at Barrack’s Cater Inn, 1224 Pioneer Parkway in Peoria.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $30 if ordered prior to Sept. 30, and $32 after that date. Checks should be made out to “Respect Life Dinner Committee” and mailed to PO Box 368, Morton, IL 61550.

Proceeds from the dinner are used to purchase supplies for the Family Resources Center, Peoria, and to aid respect life work in the community.

The Thomas More Society is a Chicago-based national public interest law firm dedicated to restoring respect in law for life, family, and religious liberty. Brejcha has served as its president and chief counsel for 17 years, litigating cases in federal and state courts.

A U.S. Army captain in Vietnam during 1969-70, Brejcha graduated from the University of Notre Dame and the New York University Law School. After furthering his studies at the Sorbonne and Alliance Francaise in Paris, he was a business litigator in two private law firms.

In 1987, he co-founded the Thomas More Society with Joe and Ann Scheidler. The Society has assisted thousands of clients pro bono including major pro-life and religious figures and organizations including the Scheidlers, David Bereit, 40 Days for Life, and Catholic Charities.

Brejcha is a frequent guest on local and national broadcast shows and has spoken at conferences sponsored by the March for Life, the National Council of Catholic Women, Speak-Out Illinois, and more. He and his wife, Deborah, live in Evanston. They are the parents of two adult sons.
