Musician Julie Carrick to present evening on discipleship at Rapids City parish July 2
RAPIDS CITY — “Intentional Disciples: Mary, the Apostles and Us” is the theme for a presentation planned for Monday, July 2, at St. John the Baptist Church, 1413 Third Ave. It will begin at 7 p.m. and be given by speaker, liturgical musician and recording artist Julie Carrick.
Based in Arizona, Carrick uses “catechetical artistry” to describe her work of spreading the Gospel through music, personal witness and the teachings of the Catholic faith. Her talk in Rapids City will invite people to look at how to live out the call to discipleship by the example of Mary, the apostles, and the grace received through the sacraments.
“Once you experience this event, you will never look at the sacraments the same way again,” Carrick promises.
She has written and recorded nine music CDs and a rosary CD. She also has three DVD projects, including her concert, “Living Our Catholic Creed.”
There is no charge to attend the evening with Carrick, but a free-will offering will be accepted. Everyone is welcome.
