View Post’s 2017 All Souls’ Day video, designed to inspire prayers for deceased

Forty-seven photos of loved ones who died in the past year, submitted by readers of The Catholic Post, are featured in a video produced by the diocesan newspaper for All Souls’ Day.

The four-minute video may be viewed below. It has also been posted for viewing and sharing on The Catholic Post’s Facebook page.

The project is designed to honor and invite prayers for all who died in the Diocese of Peoria in the past year and to share hope, faith, and comfort with those who mourn them.

The photos appear one at a time and are accompanied by the song “No More Goodbyes,” composed and sung by Tom Dermody, editor of The Catholic Post.

“We are deeply grateful to the many families who allowed us to use the images of their loved ones,” said Dermody. “This is truly a labor of love that moves and inspires us and adds to our observance of All Souls’ Day. During the production process, we frequently prayed for those pictured and their families.”

Video editing was by Daryl Wilson Photography and the project is sponsored by the Catholic Cemetery Association of Peoria.
