Community of St. John to host Family Faith Festival in rural Princeville June 4
PRINCEVILLE — Families are invited to celebrate Pentecost Sunday at the Family Faith Festival hosted by the Brothers and Sisters of the Community of St. John. The theme for the June 4 event is “The Spirit and the Bride Say, ‘Come’: The Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary.”
The day will begin with registration at 8:45 a.m. and include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, catechesis and activities by age group, and Mass at 11 a.m. in the chapel at St. Joseph Priory, 11223 W. Legion Hall Road. Among the afternoon activities are a potluck lunch, musical performances and skits. A full schedule is found at https://cdop.org/event/family-faith-fest-2017/.
The festival ends with a rosary procession with Our Lady of Fatima at 4:15 p.m., followed by family adoration in the chapel. The sacrament of reconciliation will be available.
Those who wish may stay for vespers with the Brothers and Sisters of St. John at 5:30 p.m.
Reservations are requested by June 2. In order to plan the activities, the organizers need the names and ages of each family member who will attend.
Families are asked to bring a dish to share for the potluck.
A free-will offering of $15-$20 would help to cover costs, but families who are unable to make an offering are welcome to attend.
