‘Fiat’ discernment retreat scheduled for Nov. 11-13 at Nazareth House
HENRY — The Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary are planning a discernment retreat for Nov. 11-13 at Nazareth House Retreat Center. The theme is “Fiat,” which is taken from Luke 1:38: “Behold the servant of the Lord. Let it be done to me according to your Word.”
The retreat is designed for women who want to know more about religious life in the Institute of the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The community has pastoral care for Nazareth House, and members are involved in ministry to high school and college students in the Diocese of Peoria, as well as Catholic Charities, which is directed by Sister Ana Pia Cordua, SCTJM.
The Sisters will offer “a deeper and more profound look” into religious life through their charism, which is “to be a living image and presence of the heart of Mary in the heart of the church and to form the human heart in the splendor of love, the magisterium and the treasures of the church for a new civilization of love, life, truth and service.”
The Servants of the Pierced Hearts also seek to place their “Marian charism and feminine genius in communion and at the service of the Petrine principle.”
In addition, retreat participants will learn about the four pillars of the community’s spirituality: eucharistic, Marian, open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and in the heart of the church.
The cost of $45 per person includes all meals, double room occupancy, and full use of Nazareth House. Translation to Spanish will be available.
To make a reservation, send email to registration@nazarethretreathouse.org. Payment may be mailed to Nazareth House Retreat Center, P.O. Box 165, Henry, IL 61537.
