“Making Lent Count” among workshops offered at Silvis parish Jan. 30
SILVIS — “Making Lent Count: How to Get More Out of Your Lent This Year than Ever Before” is the theme for a workshop offered by Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 800 17th St., on Saturday, Jan. 30.
The speaker for the day is Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio, an author and speaker who has appeared on EWTN, Relevant Radio and Ave Maria Radio. Most recently he spoke at the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia.
Based in the Dallas, Texas, area, he is the cofounder of the Crossroad Initiative. This ministry provides not only retreats, parish missions and conferences, but also audio tapes and CDs, videotapes and DVDs of D’Ambrosio’s teachings.
The Silvis workshop begins with Mass at 8:30 a.m. and includes four conferences: “Making Lent Count,” “Raising Your Children Catholic and Keeping Them Catholic,” “Getting More Out of Holy Mass,” and “The Gift of Eucharistic Adoration and How to Get More Out of It.”
A hot lunch will be available for purchase or participants may bring a lunch.
