Catholic Scripture Study opens Sept. 1 at St. Jude in Peoria

The Book of Isaiah will be the focus for a Catholic Scripture Study program starting Tuesday, Sept. 1, at St. Jude Church, 10811 N. Knoxville Ave., in Peoria.

The 26-week program, offered on Tuesdays, will featured commentary and questions designed by Father Mitch Pacwa, SJ, author, and DVD lectures presented by Father Patrick Winslow. While sessions are planned for 9:30 to 11 a.m., a discussion group for mothers with babies or toddlers will be held in the church nursery from 9 to 10:30 a.m. No child care will be provided.

The program is open to people from all parishes and participants are asked to bring a Catholic Bible and a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. No previous Scripture study experience is required.

The cost is $55. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available.
