Persons 55-plus invited to luncheon Wednesday in Tolono
TOLONO — Persons age 55 and over are invited to a luncheon potluck at 11:30 a.m. on on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at St. Patrick Parish Center in Tolono.
The gathering is sponsored by Good Samaritan Senior Outreach Services of Catholic Charities, Champaign-Piatt counties. Fried chicken will be served and attendees are asked to bring a dish to pass, as well as a friend. A $2 donation is requested, and because Bingo will be played participants are invited to bring a “white elephant” gifts for prizes.
The mission of Good Samaritan Outreach Services is to help seniors in rural communities live independently with hope, dignity, and sense of purpose. Professional, in-home counseling is offered as well as a “Caring Companion Service” with volunteers directed by Rob Taylor, a licensed clinical social worker.
