Cherry parish to host Mass in Filipino style on May 18

CHERRY — Catholics of Filipino descent are specially invited to a 3:30 p.m. Mass on Sunday, May 18, at Holy Trinity Church here, followed by a potluck dinner at the church hall.

Father Anthony Bernas, administrator of parishes in Coal Valley and Orion and a native of the Philippines, will be principal celebrant of the Mass. A choir comprised of persons of Filipino descent will provide music, and ethnic missals will be utilized.

The potluck dinner will include lechon, a traditional smoked pork dish.
