High schools, acadamies in diocese set to graduate 578
The seven Catholic high schools or academies in the Diocese of Peoria have scheduled graduation events for 578 seniors in the coming weeks.
In Peru, a Baccalaureate Mass for the 52 graduating seniors of St. Bede Academy will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at St. Bede Abbey Church. Graduation services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18.
In Bloomington, a graduation Mass for 80 seniors from Central Catholic High School will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, at St. Patrick Church of Merna. Father Tony Lee will be celebrant, with Msgr. Gerald Ward as homilist.
In Champaign, The High School of Saint Thomas More will host Baccalaureate and Commencement starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18. Father Robert Lampitt will address the 78 graduating seniors and their families and friends.
In Danville, Holy Family Church will be the site for the graduation Mass and ceremonies for the 24 seniors of Schlarman Academy at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 18.
In Ottawa, a Baccalaureate Mass for the 50 seniors of Marquette Academy will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at St. Patrick Church. Graduation ceremonies will be the following Sunday, May 25, beginning at 3 p.m. in the Academy gym.
In Peoria, Baccalaureate Mass and graduation ceremonies for the 183 seniors of Peoria Notre Dame High School is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at the Peoria Civic Center.
In Rock Island, a Baccalaureate Mass for the 111 seniors of Alleman High School will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, at Sacred Heart Church in Moline. Graduation ceremonies will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at Centennial Hall of Augustana College with Michael Harring as commencement speaker.
