Series for Catholic men on Pope Francis’ text opens Friday

Catholic men are invited this Friday evening, March 21, to the first in a series of monthly meetings exploring Pope Francis’ recent teaching document, “Evangelii Gaudium” (“Joy of the Gospel.”)

The series will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 7403 N. Radnor Road in Peoria. The talks run from 7 to 8 pm., followed by a social time.

The March 21 gathering will be an introduction to the document. Successive monthly meetings will delve into its main themes, including evangelization and care and compassion for the poor.

The series is not sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, but attendees are welcomed to take part in a K. of C. fish fry at the club preceding Friday’s program. A detailed flyer with future topics and speakers is being prepared. For more information, call Cliff Rebello at (309) 578-9128.
