4 Theology on Tap sessions set in Peoria during June
Topics and speakers have been announced for the 2012 Theology on Tap series in Peoria on Wednesday nights in June, including a “Stump the Bishop” night with Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, on June 27.
Theology on Tap is a discussion series for young adults at which faith issues are explored in a relaxed setting. The Peoria series takes place at Kelleher’s Irish Pub, 619 S.W. Water St. There is no charge to attend, and food and drink will be available for purchase.
The evenings begin at 6:30 p.m., with talks opening at 7.
Following are the scheduled topics and speakers:
June 6: “Authentic Femininity: A Natural Family Planning Testimony” by Dr. Diane Dunniway, an NFP-only nurse practitioner with an OB-Gyn group in Peoria.
June 13: “Answering the Call: One Man’s Journey to the Seminary” by Shawn Resendiz, a native of Ottawa who will officially begin seminary studies for the Diocese of Peoria in August.
June 20: “Catholicism Counts: Principles for Voting as a Catholic Christian” by Dr. Steven Smart, associate professor of clinical medicine for the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and
June 27: “Stump the Bishop” featuring Bishop Jenky, at which attendees will be encouraged to ask “all your perplexing questions about the faith.”
