Delivering Unity Campaign opens; support, receive The Catholic Post
The Catholic Post’s 2012 Delivering Unity Campaign is now open. Contributions are accepted online by clicking on the campaign logo at right.
Gifts do more than ensure home delivery of the newspaper of the Diocese of Peoria for the following year. They also support The Catholic Post’s expanding digital efforts to inform, inspire, and unite the faithful. And they enable the newspaper to unite all 60,000 Catholic households at key points throughout the year.
Following is a letter from Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, encouraging support for the 2012 Delivering Unity Campaign.

My dear friends in Christ,
Ten years ago, when a younger Dan Jenky was named Bishop of Peoria, not one “tweet” announced the news. There were no networks of Facebook friends buzzing about the choice.
How news gets around, including vital Catholic information, continues to evolve. And because of your generosity, our award-winning newspaper — The Catholic Post — is making exciting strides in how it unites, informs, and inspires our large diocesan family.
Your contributions to The Catholic Post’s first “Delivering Unity Campaign” a year ago bore remarkable fruit. Six times, at key moments in 2011, the newspaper was delivered to all 60,000 Catholic homes in the diocese. In the digital world, our important news and photos were shared freely, widely, and rapidly like never before via The Catholic Post’s new E-Edition, its website, and notices of breaking news via Facebook and Twitter.
The year 2012 promises to be an historic one in our diocese and our nation, and the Holy Spirit surely has many surprises. In this new world of blogs and tweets, The Catholic Post remains our trusted primary source for Catholic news, teaching, and analysis. I urge all faithful Catholics to receive every issue of the newspaper by making at least a $25 subscription-level donation to the 2012 Delivering Unity Campaign. Further, I invite those able to invest more to consider doing so as a practical way to evangelize and unite those we may not see in our pews every weekend, or who are affected by the difficult economy.
More information is found in the Feb. 5th issue of The Catholic Post, which is being sent to every Catholic household.
Thanking you for your support and assuring you of my prayers, I am
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Daniel R. Jenky, C.S.C.
BISHOP OF PEORIA
