Widowed and divorced invited to Day of Reflection Aug. 6
A diocese-wide Day of Reflection for the Widowed and Divorced has been schedule for Saturday, Aug. 6.
Sponsored by the Widowed and Divorced Diocesan Advisory Board, it will be held at St. Patrick’s Church of Merna in Bloomington.
The major presenter will be Father Albert Haase, OFM, a popular preacher, teacher, radio host, author and director of the International Institute of Clergy Formation. Perhaps he is best known in the Diocese of Peoria for his collaboration with the Office of the Permanent Diaconate to train spiritual directors for ministry in central Illinois.
The day of reflection will begin with registration and a continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and close with Mass at 4:30 p.m. In addition to time for private reflection and sharing, the sacrament of reconciliation will be available.
Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, recorded an 11-minute video “Message for the Divorced” that debuted at last year’s Conference for the Widowed and Divorced. It can be viewed by clicking on the CDOP Videos YouTube icon at left.
The fee for the Day of Reflection for the Widowed and Divorced is $25, which includes the continental breakfast and lunch. To register or for more information, call the diocesan Office of Family Life at (309) 671-1550.
