300 youth to Champaign for Catholic HEART Workcamp
CHAMPAIGN — More than 200 teens, young adults and adults from Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Ohio will participate in the weeklong Catholic HEART Workcamp in Champaign-Urbana and surrounding areas the week of July 17-23.
Catholic HEART (Helping Everyone Attain Repairs Today) Workcamp gives campers an opportunity to live their faith as they serve and give back to the community. Their week of service may include projects such as building wheelchair ramps, painting, general home repairs, cleaning and landscaping. They will also be involved in food distribution, homeless shelters and working with children at several local kids’ clubs.
The campers will be housed at — and will sleep on the floor of — The High School of St. Thomas More in Champaign.
