Golf Classic set June 3 in Danville

DANVILLE — Catholic Charities programs throughout Vermilion County will benefit from the 12th Golf Classic to be hosted on Friday, June 3, at Turtle Run Golf Course here.

Sponsored by Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, the Golf Classic has raised nearly $70,000 since 1999 to benefit the work of the Danville branch of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria.

The entry fee is $65 for non-members of Turtle run, and $35 for members. The day will feature contests including longest drive and putt, closest to the hole, lowest score, and door prizes. A light lunch will be provided. Sponsorships are also available.

Registration begins at noon with a “shotgun start” at 1 p.m. The awards ceremony is planned for approximately 5:30 p.m.
