Catholic Charities sessions set on Haitian orphan adoptions

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria is planning workshops in Rock Island and Bloomington to clarify the process of adopting orphans from Haiti.

Haitian authorities recently announced they are accepting new adoption applications. According to Catholic Charities, the process can be challenging and applicants must comply with all Haitian and United States regulations.

The first workshop is scheduled from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, at Catholic Charities’ Rock Island office, 4703 44th St., Suite 4. For more information or to reserve a place at this session, contact Katrina Kainz at (309) 786-0770.

A second workshop will take place on Saturday, April 9, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Parish Center, 711 N. Main St. in Bloomington. The contact person for the Bloomington session is Jennifer Walls, (309) 829-6307.
