The Loving Heart of Jesus is the theme for the 24th annual Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference scheduled for July 30-31 at the Holiday Inn City Centre in Peoria.

Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, will celebrate a Mass of the Holy Spirit for conference participants at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 30. A eucharistic adoration will follow.

Speakers for this year’s event are Anne, a lay apostle of Jesus the Returning King from Ireland, and Father Paul Burak of Orland Park.

Anne, who works anonymously at the request of Jesus and Mary, is a wife and mother of six children. Direction for Our Times, a nonprofit organization that spreads the messages revealed to Anne, notes that nothing she writes is published without the permission of her local bishop or his designated representative.

Her books include “Climbing the Mountains,” “The Mist of Mercy” and “Serving in Clarity.”

Ordained in 1972, Father Burak is the pastor of St. Michael’s Church in Orland Park. He has been involved in the charismatic renewal for more than 20 years and serves as liaison for the movement in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He will preside at a healing service and celebrate the closing Mass on Saturday, July 31.

Musical praise for the conference will be led by Mary Delgado, a music minister and teacher at St. Edward’s Parish and School in Chillicothe. She is involved in the Spirit of Love Disciples prayer group there.

Conference organizers are establishing a chapel and prayer room, and noted that the sacrament of reconciliation will be available. There also will be a bookstore.

The cost for “The Loving Heart of Jesus” is $70 for adults and $35 for full-time students, high school through college. There is no registration fee for clergy, religious, deacons and seminarians.

The lunch and dinner buffets on Saturday are $25 for all conference participants, however. Only registrations postmarked by July 16 are eligible for meals.
