Adoption meetings scheduled in LaSalle and Bloomington

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria is hosting meetings in LaSalle and Bloomington in the coming days to offer information about domestic infant and international adoption as well as home studies for those who are waiting to adopt a child.

The meeting in LaSalle is planned for Monday, Feb. 22, at the Catholic Charities office at 815 Second St. It will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
Officials said the devastation in Haiti is prompting people to ask, “What can I do?” This gathering is designed to address the realities of children waiting to be adopted locally and internationally and how individuals can have an impact on that reality.

Reservations are requested by noon on Feb. 22 and may be made by calling Sara Olson at (815) 223-4007.

The information session in Bloomington will be held on Saturday, March 6, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Catholic Charities office at 603 N. Center St. It is open to those who are seeking information about adoption as well as those who are ready to begin the process.

Reservations are required by March 3. Call Jennifer Walls at (309) 829-6307.

In addition to its various adoption programs, Catholic Charities offers individual and group sessions, placement and post-placement services, and support to those who pursue bringing a child into their homes.
