Northwest TEC sets schedule; bishop to offer Mass Nov. 8

MOLINE — Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, will celebrate a Mass at Christ the King Church here at 5 p.m. next Sunday, Nov. 8, to start the 36th year of the Northwest Teens Encounter Christ program.

Prayers will be offered during the Mass for girls attending the first weekend of 2009-2010 at the TEC Center, 3209 60th St., during that time, as well as the success of six future retreats scheduled in the coming months. The public is invited to attend.

The remainder of the Northwest TEC season includes boys weekends on Dec. 5-7, Feb. 13-15, and April 10-12, as well as girls weekends Jan. 16-18, March 6-8, and June 12-14.

The weekends, sponsored by the Diocese of Peoria and based on the Paschal Mystery of Christ, are open to persons ages 16 to 20. Each weekend begins Saturday morning and goes until Monday evening. The cost is $60, but there are scholarships available.
