THE PUBLIC is invited to a “GermanFest” following the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Oct. 4, at St. Joseph’s Church in Peoria.

The festival is being planned by neighboring Sacred Heart Parish as a fundraiser for St. Joseph’s. It will run from noon to 4 p.m. in the church hall and parish grounds at 103 Richard Pryor Place, and feature a German band, folk dancers, a bratwurst dinner, beverages and a raffle. Raffle tickets will be available on site or in advance by calling Sacred Heart Parish at (309) 673-6317.

At 3 p.m., there will be a blessing of pets to mark the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
