Faith on Draft series begins in Washington Saturday

WASHINGTON — “Faith on Draft,” a series of fellowship nights hosted by the Knights of Columbus, Father John Menco Council No. 6707, will begin Saturday, Aug. 22, with a presentation on “Catholics and Mary.”

The speaker will be Father Joseph Donton, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Washington. He will talk at 7 p.m. and then take questions from participants.

The Knights are planning a social time at 6:45 p.m. and again after the question-and-answer session. Snack, pizza and drinks will be available for purchase.

The other fellowship nights in the series, which will follow the same format, include:
— Saturday, Sept. 19, “The Fellowship of Christian Athletes.”
— Saturday, Oct. 17, “The Eucharist: You Are What You Eat,” with Judi Sherman of Peoria Notre Dame High School as the speaker.
— Saturday, Nov. 14, “Pray-n-Tell: The Charismatic Gifts of the Roman Catholic Church,” presented by Father Eugene Radosevich, pastor of St. Luke’s Parish in Eureka and chaplain and director of the Salve Regina Newman Foundation at Eureka College.

All sessions will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 120 Walnut St., Washington.

This is the second year for “Faith on Draft,” which is modeled after Theology on Tap. While that series is geared toward young adults, the Knights have tailored “Faith on Draft” to include people of all ages. Last year’s session drew between 45 and 50 participants each evening.
