‘Praise in the Park’ May 30 to support teen mission trip

ROANOKE — Catholics of all ages are invited to an evening of musical praise, food and fellowship at the second annual “Praise in the Park” event on Saturday, May 30.

Sponsored by Catholic Teen Connection of St. Joseph’s Parish, Roanoke, and St. John’s Parish, Benson, the event is a fundraiser for CTC’s upcoming mission trip to Mobile, Ala., in July.

The Christian band ReZound, which has performed in the past at Peoria diocesan youth rallies, will present a concert from 6 to 8 p.m. in Roanoke Park.

The concert is included in the price of the meal, which will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6 for a homemade pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, coleslaw, chips and drink, or $4 for just a sandwich, chips and drink. Carry-outs will be available, and homemade desserts also will be available for a donation.

Advance tickets may be purchased at Roanoke Pharmacy, 322 N. Main St., or by calling Cathy Bilow at (309) 923-7352 or Kendra Ford at (309) 923-7592.
