Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria will hold its annual Birthmother’s Day Celebrations and Blessings at four locations in May to honor and remember the women who place their children for adoption.

All members of the adoption experience — birthmothers, birthfathers, adoptees, adoptive parents and those who support them — are invited to attend one of four celebrations set on three successive Saturdays.

On May 2, a Birthmother’s Day Celebration and Blessing will take place at 10 a.m. at Catholic Charities, 542 Crosat St., LaSalle.

On May 9, celebrations are planned for 1 p.m. at The Women’s Choice Center, 2711 Happy Joe Drive, Bettendorf, Iowa; and at the same time at Provena Covenant Chapel, 1400 W. Park St., Urbana.

The fourth and final celebration will be 1 p.m., Saturday, May 16, at the Spalding Pastoral Center, 419 N.E. Madison Ave., Peoria.
