Bishop: Time to subscribe to The Catholic Post
February is Catholic Press Month, and the time to renew or begin a subscription to The Catholic Post, the newspaper of the Diocese of Peoria. The following letter encouraging subscriptions is from the Most Rev. Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, Bishop of Peoria.

To the Priests, Deacons, Religious and Faithful of the Diocese of Peoria:
This April marks the 75th anniversary of our excellent diocesan newspaper, The Catholic Post. I invite you to consider a gift to mark this special occasion, but there is a twist:
The gift is for you.
Give your household the valuable gifts of Catholic information, identity, and inspiration by subscribing to The Catholic Post in 2009. Now is the time to renew or begin a new subscription at your parish.
For 75 years, our diocesan newspaper has united and motivated Catholics of central Illinois by being a window to our faith as it is lived across the street and around the world. As The Catholic Post begins a new era of service in these changing and challenging times, I entrust its mission to our Blessed Mother, who is a living text of the Good News. The newspaper will be a vital part of our diocese’s efforts to make Mary’s Rosary more a part of our personal and ecclesial life in 2009.
The subscription price remains at just $25. Present subscribers will receive a renewal envelope in the mail, but all that is necessary to subscribe is to write “Post” on any envelope, enclose a check, and drop it in your parish collection basket. I strongly urge you to do so in the coming weeks.
Thanking you for your choice to be an informed Catholic, I remain
Most Rev. Daniel R. Jenky, CSC
Bishop of Peoria
