Catholic Charities sessions to offer adoption information

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Peoria will host several meetings in September for those seeking information about adoption.

“Caring for Children’s Health,” a two-hour presentation about the appropriate care for children of diverse cultural or racial backgrounds, will be offered on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the Catholic Charities branch office at 1315A Curt St., Champaign. To reserve a space, call (217) 352-5179.

“Working through the Wait,” a candid look at the dynamics of the adoption process that is designed to help prospective adoptive parents learn how to succesffully make it through the waiting period, will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Catholic Charities branch office at 542 Crosat St., LaSalle. It begins at 6 p.m. To take part in this discussion, call (815) 223-4007.

A general meeting about the various adoption and adoption support programs offered by Catholic Charities is planned for Monday, Sept. 15, at the Catholic Charities North Office, 4806 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria. Reservations are requested by Sept. 12 and may be made by calling (309) 682-6258.

All of the events are open to the public and especially to current and prospective adoptive parents.
