St. Bede Medieval Faire is Sunday, Aug. 3

PERU — Saint Bede Academy will transformed into a medieval fairground this Sunday, Aug. 3, for the school’s 16th annual Medieval Faire. The event is organized by the Academy’s drama department under the leadership of drama director Father Dominic Garramone, OSB. Those who attend are encouraged to wear medieval costumes.

Highlighting the day will be an original play, “The Tales of the Scarlet Parrot,” that culminates the drama department’s three-week summer theater camp for students entering fifth through eighth grades. Free performances will be at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The Faire features a variety of medieval-themed games and activities. Most of the games are only a quarter or 50 cents to play, and some activities are free. Food will be available.

The Faire will be from noon to 5 p.m. St. Bede Academy is located at Route 6 West. Admission is $1.50 for adults and $1 for children, with children 5 and under admitted free.
