We are pleased you are viewing the online version of The Catholic Post.
Would you like to receive the print version of the award-winning newspaper of the Diocese of Peoria? Click on this link The Catholic Post Delivering Unity Campaign after reading the following important information.
The Catholic Post is no longer subscription based. In an historic move approved by Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, the print and digital efforts of the diocesan newspaper are now supported by contributions to The Catholic Post’s “Delivering Unity Campaign.” The campaign’s goal is to better inform, inspire, and unite the diocese’s 65,000 households by sharing the newspaper’s information and inspiration in print and digitally as often as campaign revenue permits.
Those who contribute to the campaign automatically receive 26 biweekly print issues of The Catholic Post mailed to their home. Bishop Jenky encourages all who are able to give beyond the traditional $25 subscription investment – even if only $5 or $10 more – to consider doing so as a practical way to evangelize inactive Catholics or to provide Catholic reading for households struggling in this economy.
There are four recommended levels of giving:
$25 – Subscriber level. The price of a traditional subscription to The Catholic Post. Present subscribers giving at least at this level are vital to the success of the campaign.
$50 – Evangelizer level. This gift will share The Catholic Post with additional households. It will be a regular reminder to inactive Catholics, hurting Catholics, out-of-work Catholics, and others who may not regularly subscribe that they, too, are part of our large and loving spiritual family.
$100 – Page sponsor level. This gift will help fund a page of the newspaper. Donors will be recognized on their sponsored page with a message of their choice. A form for that purpose will be emailed to all donors at this level.
$300 or more – Msgr. Peters Society. Gifts at this level honor the memory, commitment, and five decades of service to this newspaper of the late Msgr. R. G. Peters. A former president of the national Catholic Press Association and recipient of its highest honor, Msgr. Peters guided The Catholic Post and its predecessor, The Register, from 1944 to 1992. He is regarded as one of the greatest figures in the Catholic press of the 20th century. Society members will be granted a page sponsorship (see above) and receive a copy of the Catholic Directory of the Diocese of Peoria as well as a blessed medal of St. Francis de Sales, patron of the Catholic press. In addition, one Mass per month at the Spalding Pastoral Center in Peoria will be offered for Society members’ intentions.
